Description(1) page letter written on recto and verso from Lowell Trautman to Tatsumi Iwate, with envelope. Lowell writes that it was good to hear from Tatsumi, that his mother told him about Tatsumi being in the 442nd, that it sounds like a good outfit and that they will hear big things about it soon, that he remembers when Tatsumi was Private but now he's Sarge and that's darned good, in "Boot Camp" they spent three weeks on the rifle range and there he qualified as a marksman, that when Tatsumi gets his rookies, that he knows that Tatsumi will handle them well. Envelope to Sgt. T. Iwate at 3rd Bn., Hg Co. 442nd, Camp Shelby, Mississippi from Pvt. Lowell C. Trautman JR., U.S.M.C.R. in Jacksonville, Florida. Postmarked on April 3, 1943.
