Description5-page letter on recto and verso by Tatsumi Iwate to his brother Mas Iwate in the Jerome concentration camp on February 24, 1943 from Camp Shelby, Mississippi. On top center, Camp Hale has a line through it, on top right written in black ink, "3rd Bn, HQ CO, 442nd Inf. / Feb. 24, 1943." Tatsumi writes that he got Mas's letter today, only cheerful news comes from Hawaiʻi where boys are reported to be anxious to join and seven thousand volunteered, that Yoshida who visited Jerome is from Hawaiʻi, how they will be treated after the war, the typical day, that he has been promoted to Sergeant, and what Mary Nakahara and other girls have sent to him.
