Description1 envelope; 3 paged handwritten letter written by Hon Tajima to Norio Mitsuoka on March 7, 1945. Letter is written in black fountain pen ink on cream colored tissue weight paper. Tajima writes about an "unfortunate incident" and losing a purse, living conditions, costs for food and rent, different ethnicities (African American, Italian, Irish, Chinese), also writes about a supper with 5 high ranking Caucasian officers and 5 Japanese bachelors, thought they were "starchy snobs" and ate in kitchen with regular friends.
Cream colored envelope addressed to Mr. Norio Mitsuoka, Fire Station No 1, Hunt, Idaho, from Hon in Boston, Mass. Postmarked Mar 10, 1945 Boston, Mass. 3 cent postage stamp in upper right corner. On right side is large postmarked stamp that indicated it was received at Minidoka War Relocation Project on March 14, 1945.
