Description1 envelope; 1 letter. A handwritten letter written on 3-hole punched lined composition paper on December 24, 1944 for Norio Mitsuoka from Tooru Hideshima. Hideshima writes an apology to Mitsuoka for not writing back due to mental struggles after new life in family internment camp in Crystal City, after studying philosophy and religion is ready to communicate again, philosophical about life, wishes Mitsuoka merry Christmas and happy new year. On lower left of letter, a hard to read purple square stamp reads "Detention Alien, [illegible], Examined by JR" and a signature below it.
Envelope addressed to Mr. Norio Mitsuoka in Hunt, Idaho from Tooru Hideshima in Crystal City, Texas. Postmarked Dec. 26 1944 Crystal City, Texas. No postage stamp. Written in upper right corner, "Internee of War ~ Mail Free". In lower left corner is a large round stamp indicating date and time received at Minidoka War Relocation Project, Jan 2, 1945 8:30AM.
