Description1 wooden case for quill pen. 1 nib holder carved from wood and painted with a clear varnish. The holder is carved flat the top to simulate a feather. At about mid point of the holder it tapers down to 1/4" in diameter. Further down it widens to 1/2" in diameter and at the end it flares out to 5/8" in diameter. Approximately 2" from the bottom is the beginning of a 7 ring design of 3 different colors. At the top of the feather end the maker has written in ink: S. Wakahiro 11-8-1944 Manz. (in 2 lines). Just above the 7 ring design is a small circular plug.
