Description1 wooden case for quill pen. A nib holder carved from wood and painted with a clear varnish. The holder is carved into a flat elongated oval type shape at the top. Then it tapers down to a smooth pencil size shape before widening out and becoming octagonal in shape. There is a slight taper towards the end and then a final flaring at the nib end. On the flat oval end the maker has marked: MANZ. 1944 S.W. 1 3/4" from the bottom and are three bands of wood. Two lighter colors sandwiching a darker color.
