Description1 wooden case for quill pen. A nib holder carved from wood and painted with a clear varnish. The holder is carved into a flat elongated oval type shape at the top. At about 4 1/2" from the top end of the holder it begins to taper to 1/4" in diameter. Further down it widens to 1/2" in diameter and is carved into an octagonal . There is another taper and finally at the end is a flare out at the nib end. Approximately 2" from the bottom is the beginning of a 7 ring design of 3 different colors of wood. The maker has written K.W. Manzanar 1943 just above the 7 ring design. Just above the 7 ring design is a small circular plug.
