DescriptionLarge bird pin carved from wood. The bird (possibly a falcon) is positioned in flight with wings extended above the body; the tail is fanned out, the legs tucked under the body and beak open. The bird is painted in shades of brown, golden yellow, and rusty brown. The legs are wire wrapped with yellow thread but the ends are exposed wire to resemble claws. The backside is not painted but has a glaze or lacquered finish. A large safety pin (2" long) is embedded in the wood on the backside. Some of the paint is chipping off the wings and tail.
