Description1 paged typed letter to Mary Misao Fujii in Long Beach, Washington from George Fujii, in Fort Lincoln Internment Camp in Bismarck, North Dakota on April 13, 1942. George writes about Johnny and Arlene and the importance of lessons since they are not going to school, tells her what he hears from people who have arrived at Manzanar in Owens Valley and their complaints about the dust, guesses that Mary and the children will end up at Puyallup Assembly Center and Manzanar, gives packing advice, advising Mary to bring her sunglasses, winter clothes, and summer clothes, tells her about how they can buy candies, canned fruit and vegetables, Japanese foods, and medicine at the camps but no books or magazines so Grandpa should make sure to bring books. He also asks Mary to write a letter on his behalf since he can only write two letters a week. On lower left-hand corner, a difficult to read purple square stamp reads "DETENTION ALIEN, ENEMY MAIL, EXAMINED, BY ...., U.S.A. & N.S."
