DescriptionColor home movie footage of carnival amusements at the Santa Anita Racetrack in Arcadia, and the California and Masters of Art 1790-1950 exhibition at the Los Angeles County Fair in Pomona, California, filmed by the Tanaka family, circa 1948 to 1955. The footage shows harness racing (horse-pulled two wheeled carts) and infield performances at the racetrack itself, and carnival attractions and crowds in the expansive parking lot areas outside the racetrack. At the Pomona Fairgrounds, a large scale model of trains and buildings is visible before turning to short clips of dance and aquatic performances.
