Description1 Christmas card and letter sent to Benji Okubo from his sister, Mine. This letter was sent when Mine relocated to Brooklyn after camp, and Benji was still at Heart Mountain. Mine stated "Relocation isn't roses, kid. Sometimes I think you're smart. However, you'll have to move some day." She also talks about her professional struggles as an artist and her desire to make it as a freelance commercial artist. The hand drawn sketch on the paper shows an amusing caricature of Mine, struggling as an artist in New York. She is standing amidst a great city, clutching paintings in both arms and around her neck. The drawing is done with black ink and in a quick cartoon-like style. The artist added a green and red holiday wreath and a green "Greetings" salutation as well.
