DescriptionSilk screen print of a poster designed by Benji Okubo for an exhibition of the Art Student's League. The image is a bust portrait of a woman holding a flower. The image is abstracted but recognizable. Four colors are used -- black, deep rose, dark olive green and muted purple. The paper is deep cream. The artist uses shapes to define woman's face, hair and hand and allows the negative space of the paper to define the shape of the eye and the space between the fingers. The woman appears to be gazing at a tiny flower she holds between her thumb and forefinger of her proper left hand. Text is displayed the top and bottom of the poster. On top in cursive, it reads: Exhibit Painting Drawing. On the bottom, it reads: Jan 14-17 2-26N, 10 am - 9 pm.
