Description1 card (possibly Christmas) sent to Benji Okubo from his sister Mine, from Topaz, Utah. Benji was incarcerated at camp in Heart Mountain. The card is a red ink drawing on paper depicting a man, child and dog, trudging through the snow. The man and child are carrying wrapped presents but their faces are sad and resigned. Snow falls upon the scene and in the background the barracks stand as silent reminders of the Japanese American incarceration. The style of the card is drawn quickly in a cartoonish manner, but the artist is able to convey a sense of pathos and dignity to the scene.
