DescriptionOil painting on engraved decorative wooden plate by Henry Sugimoto. A young girl in a green dress is standing with her arms raised in front of her mother, who is slightly bent over and holding on to her daughter's arm. Mother is wearing a blue dress, white apron and green scarf around her hair. Barbed wire is behind them with "BLOCK 23" sign on right post. There is a rattlesnack below the sign. The background has a mix of various components, including a train on the right, trees, and a guard and guard tower. On verso, engraved in the center: "Longing" Jerome Camp 1942| By Henry Sugimoto New York 1982. Imagery is similar to Sugimoto's painting "When Can We Go Home?" (92.97.3) and print, "Longing" (2015.2.79).
