DescriptionUnstretched. Image of the Library of Columbia University in New York. Several flights of stairs lead up to the imposing structure (dark browns and grays) that dominates most of the painting. Tops of two academic buildings on Columbia's campus (St. Paul's Chapel and Riverside Church?) detail the background and add context to the location. A small figure (lower right) descending the stairs indicate scale of building.
