DescriptionUnstretched. Image of a French commune in northern France. Several figures dot the bottom half of the scene, depicting the daily life of a villager: several women do laundry inside their homes over a small river (turquoise) and one figure stands by the bridge connecting a footpath (bottom right) to the town. In the middle left, a small figure in a brown uniform is seen between two gray walls. The front row of houses at the foreground have red roofs, while those in the background have blue roofs. Behind the blue roofs, in the upper third of the image, a yellow hill is dotted with brown trees and small white houses can be seen in the upper right corner.
