Description1 stretched oil painting on canvas completed at Topaz by Byron Takashi Tsuzuki in 1944. The painting titled “Forced Removal, Act II” captures both the daily life and harsh landscape at Topaz as it depicts incarcerees tying and moving crates just outside a row of barracks as plumes of dust rise from the ground into the sky. Duffle bags similar to the one kept by the Tsuzuki family and donated (2021.42.2) can be seen in the background.
