DescriptionOne (1) b&w photographic portrait of a box of Umeya’s fortune cookies taken by Toyo Miyatake Studio. The front of the box reads “Umeya’s Fortune Cookies” above an illustration of several flowers and a young girl carrying a banner which reads “many happy surprises." She has two flowers in her hair, one of which is the Umeya logo of an plum blossom with the japanese character や” (ya). The side of the box reads, “Umeya’s Fortune Cookies, the originator of fortune cookies.” The bottom right corner of the cardboard box is cutout, allowing the customer to see the actual product inside. Stamped on the back of the photograph in blue ink reads “Toyo Miyatake Studio 318 First St Los Angeles [illegible].”
