Description1 dark green and brown vinyl leather photo album with black interior and individual plastic photo sleeve pages; white label on front cover, "Battery A 522nd FA Battalion / Photographs / Donated by Joseph Ichiuji." 143 reproduction photographs are sleeved with typewritten captions on white adhesive labels at top. Shows Japanese American soldiers of Battery A of the 522nd Field Artillery Battalion in non-combat situations in the towns of Germany and France during World War II. The Germany photographs include many individual and group portraits of soldiers at Donauworth, Germany, bombed underground munitions plant, SS checkpoint, liberated Jewish inmates, European American soldiers, frauleins, bombed city of Stuttgart and a train station in Karlsruhe. The France photographs include the Eiffel Tower and Seine River, Parisian life and American Red Cross in Paris; Battleground near Strasbourg.
