DescriptionFour page letter from Stanley Hayami to Grace Hayami ("Dear Sach") dated February 25, 1945 from Southern France. He writes "well I finally caught up with Frank the very day and joined the 442 I met him." Goes on to tell of their time together, gabbing away for over 2 hours. Frank had come down to where Stanley was to take a shower. But was never able to get around to doing it and the next day they were able to get together again, and brought a friend's camera so they took a picture together. After that day Stanley got assigned to a unit and hasn't seen Frank since. He goes on to tell her about where he is at that moment. He's in a dugout on a hill with Germans on another hill. He's seen a few dead Germans on the ground that no one pays attention to, from a prior battle. The days are warm but the nights are cold. He thanks her for the scarf she knitted for him as it comes in handy when he has guard duty at night. He's seen Marseilles and Paris from the back of a truck. The street looks clean and the streets are wide. The shops look expensive. "Women seem to dress very smartly (yep they look pretty good too!)." He asks her to tell him how long it takes for her to receive his letter. He asks about their parents going to California. Closes with "say hello" to Mitsuye too.
