Dearest Mollie,
Please forgive me for not writing as often as I should. You can be sure tho' that I think of you all the time. Thanks a lot for your gift. Do you know what? This is the stationery you sent me. Hope you have received my surprise package by now. I had the store send it out for me so it may be a little late.
Well, how are you? Studying hard? June Yoshigai was staying with me during her Xmas vacation. She comes to Chicago once a month and stays over for the weekend. It's only 60 miles away for her. 60 miles west from here. It takes abut an hour and a half by train.
Hope that you had a very nice Xmas and New Year.
Yep, I'm still working. Hard working me.
The weather now is very, very cold. New Year's Eve or was it New Year's nite, anyway, can't remember, it was 8 below zero. Man, was it cold! On the way to work the next morning I was shaking like a leaf on a windy day in March. We've had zero weather for five days. Don't know how I'm going to last through the winter. Standing on street car corners is no fun. Feels like I don't have any toes, fingers or nose. Tonite won't be so bad it's 2 below. Lucky you!
My brother says that he knows your oldest brother. Is he in the Army? My brother always asks me to ask you if he's in the Armed Forces, but of course you know me.
Mollie you can be sure that I'll never forget you. You were so kind to me while I was in camp, and that kindness will never be forgotten.
While June was here she received your Xmas gift.
Well, Mollie I guess I have to plant you now and dig you later. I'll try to dig you up soon.
