Dear Mollie,
How is you? Working everyday? Well, Mollie, you're sure lucky to be going to college. I always knew you'd go, but that seemed like only yesterday you were in the 10th grade coming (to) Roosevelt. Remember those good old days? What is your goal, Mollie? Right now the only thing for me to do is to try to be a secretary or a bookkeeper. I want to be a stenographer. That seems to be the only line for the Japanese girls now. Most of the girls that are relocating seem to be in that line, so I guess I'll follow.
Gee, Mollie it's been so hot. It goes up to about 130 degrees everyday. We just sit and we're wet, just plain wet. (drip drip drip) I can hear thunder now guess we're in for some rain. Yes, we have rain in the summer. We have those cloud bursts pretty often.
I'm sorry Mollie I'm getting sleepy. As you can see I can't even write and I'm messing it up so I'll continue tomorrow.
Good night

August 26
Thursday morning
8:45

Hello again. Sure enough it rained last night good and hard. We had lightning and thunder. It's a little cooler this morning.
I am sending you a picture that I took just before graduation it's not good, but the only one I have. It may not look like me, but you'll have to say does look a little like me. The dress I have on in the picture is a little thing I found in Lamar. One of those small dress shops. That was the only thing I could find. It was windy the day I took the picture, that's why my hair is all up in the air.
Well, Mollie I guess that's all for this time. I'll always remain -

Sincerely your
friend,
Violet
