DescriptionAlternating color and black and white home movie footage, filmed by Harry Tadaichi Futamachi circa 1946-1947. Footage includes life on a farm with children (and a cat) playing and doing various activities like swimming in a lake; and a large picnic gathering in the Nakamuras’ backyard, including adults playing Go and children running races. Black and white footage includes a child’s birthday park, a hydroplane landing and takeoff, an elephant in a park, and a man working a field.

Alternating color, and black and white home movie footage of family life, farming and 1946 and 1947 picnics in Scott, Arkansas where several families (Futamachis, Yoshimuras, Yadas, Shingus, Nakamuras, Oishis, and Oshimas) originally from Terminous, California had resettled after being released from the Jerome concentration camp. Opens with color footage that includes children playing and swimming with Maurice Nakao (Futamachi cousin originally from Hawaii), cat playing with moth. Followed by black and white footage of children eating sandwiches and soda at a birthday party, hydroplane landing and lifting off, an elephant in a park, and man walking in field and tractor in field.
