DescriptionDear Mollie:
Hi ya! How's tricks? I bet you've been busy with graduation, your finals and natcherly, your love affairs!
Guess where I've been since June 11 th til the 30 th? I've been in Denver, Colo. Golly, but it really has been swell out there. I guess you're wondering why I've been out there, well, it was a G.R. (girl reserves) conference in Camp Lookout around 25 miles from the city of Denver! It was a 25 10 day conference. I just had loads and loads of fun! I guess I haven't written to you from there, but I really meant to, but I've been having so much fun that there really was no chance. As I understood it, Sandie was suppose to be there, but instead she went to a Y.M.C.A. summer camp to work. Gee, it would've been swell if we could've met after 1 year's absence huh! I saw my uncle tho' - he's teaching the Naval students at the University of Colorado in Boulder. It's really a pretty place. What college are you planning to enter? U.C.L.A.?
The graduation here was held outdoors and it really was quite nice. Tsk! tsk! Mollie! Oh well, it's only once in a life time that you have your fun on graduation nite! I wish I could be out side of Manzanar for my graduation. I'd paint the town red too!
-How do you like your job at Douglas? Bet it's oodles of fun! I'm loafing at the present (maybe in the future too!) but I sure would like to work too. We got out of school on the 2nd of this month. Sorta late huh! Are you going to commute everyday to San Pedro if you work at the Cal. Ship or are you going to live down there?
I'll say camp life is dead! Well, there's shows, and on the 4th + 5th we did have a carnival, but otherwise it's dead. I got to dances and baseball games, but since it's the same ole stuff, it gets monotnous. I sure would like to relocate somewhere, in the east [sp] most likely. Mich is just fine but sure would like to get out of camp. She's planning on relocation. I'll probably follow her next year. I hope! My dad is going out pretty soon. Everybody in camp is starting, slowly but surely, in relocating.
Has Sandie written to you lately? I'm still waiting for her letter. She seems quite busy! Some of these gals, they must be love-sick or something.
Well, give my regards to Beulah and Irma, and please write at in your spare time - Until I hear from you,
Just,
Lil (NOBIE)
P.S. Is L.A. the only place with zone numbers?
