Description2 page letter to Mac Davis from Gorman F. Kelley, dated sometime after June 5, 1942 about the Tule Lake Project. Kelley writes about the individuals from his community back home, the current work life which includes 62 Caucasians and additional military command , censorship of letters, and building the Tule Lake Project for 16,000 incarcerees. Written on WRA letterhead.
Collection consists of 31 letters covering 4 months (June, Jul, Aug, and Sept 1942) From Gorman F. Kelley (1892-1961) to his family. Letters were typed and/or handwritten, some on WRA letterhead, regular typing paper and yellow pad paper. All letters are 1 to 4 pages long and are about his observations of the camp life of the internees, administration, as well as his personal business and family matters. These letters were written during the 4 month period of temporary assignment between permanent assignments in the Corp of Engineers.
Also included is an old newspaper article, titled "450 Nisei Loyal to Japs," Dated June 9th, no year.
