DescriptionOne (1) Japanese passport issued to Tamotsu Ohashi, for travel to the United States as an emigrant relative. Year of immigration dated May 25, 1922, passport number 195545, from Ehime Prefecture at the age of 12 years and 3 months. Folded sheet of paper with green print on both sides, handwritten Japanese, English, and French entries filled in. Additional immigration information and paperwork on the inside page: On left page, includes studio photograph of Tamotsu Ohashi in kimono with purple Imperial Japanese Government Passport printed on top; two American Consulate visa stamps issued in Yokohama on center left, with admitted stamp on center right, dated June 13, 1922. On top left corner, Port of San Ysidro, California, dated September 1, 1929, Departed to Mexico. On right page, is a travel permit issued by the Governor of Ehime Prefecture. Permit includes address in Ehime, birth year and month, and family members.
