DescriptionHorizontal watercolor painting of Japanese program at the Mess Hall in Heart Mountain. It is brightly colored with 2 girls on stage dressed in colorful kimono, Japanese hairstyle with hair ornaments, and holding parasols. The back of the stage has a painting of green trees and bushes. Behind the scenes, to the side, are other performers in kimono and other costumes waiting to perform or getting ready (a lady is seen putting lipstick on a child in a kimono). 2 men and a lady dressed in black are seated on a bench with their instruments (violin, guitar, ukulele). Another girl dressed in pink kimono holds a shamisen instrument. To the far right is a large cylinder stove. 2 men in black suits peek from behind the side of the stage. Signed and dated in UR corner "Heart Mt Mess Hall Shibai. Estelle Ishigo 5/44."
