DescriptionA woman with strands of forelock in her face, Mine Okubo, gathers straw into bags of ticking with her brother, Toku, to make their mattresses on the racetrack at Tanforan Assembly Center, California during World War II. Both wear cuffed jeans; Mine in a cross-patterned shirt and Toku in a pullover. Toku holds straw straw at right as Mine stuffs bag on left.
