Description1 photographic print : b&w ; Fifty-eight Friendship dolls from Japan are displayed in the Kinmon Gakuen auditorium in San Francisco, California on November 27, 1927. The dolls are dressed in kimono and placed on tiers, platforms and are surrounded by screens and other accessories. In the back is a stage that only has three large dolls. The stage has curtains that are pulled back and swags and tassels at top. Above the swags and tassels is a Japanese flag on the left; it is cinched in the center. To the right is an American flag that is cinched in the center as well. Between the flags is a sign in Japanese that reads: Welcome Dolls.
